Cyclops first in CLax

OHSWEKEN/DURHAM – A combination of the Ohsweken Demons’ loss at the ILA and the Southwest Cyclops’ 14-12 win over the Durham Turfdogs in Durham, put the Cyclops on top of the Canadian Lacrosse League standings with a 3-1 record in their first season playing out of the Syl Apps Arena in Paris, Ontario.

Durham led 5-2 after a slow start by the Cyclops in the first quarter, but they came on strong in the second to sit one goal behind at 8-7 at the half. By the time they were heading into the fourth quarter, however, they were down by two at 10-8.

Durham made it an 11-8 lead early, but the Cyclops were gaining momentum and netted the next two to draw within one of the Dogs before Durham regained the two goal edge at 12-10. That is when the Cyclops attacked and hammered in the next four as time ran down to wrestle the win from the Dogs.

Saturday, Feb 14th, the Ohsweken Demons pay their first visit to the Syl Apps Arena in Paris for an 8 p.m. start.
